Quincy Loyd
To Whom This Does Concern,
This is a new experience for me, so please receive my conversation with an open mind.
I first want to address the typical stereotype that is assumed about prisoners.
Usually people's reputations seem to follow them. I ask that you don't base an
opinion on that stereotype and give me the benefit of a doubt. I feel our
encounter will be a better one.
Let me introduce myself, I am Quincy Loyd, 5' 7", 165 lbs., muscular build, age:
young enough to be your brother and old enough to be your lover -- 30 years,
D.O.B. July 8, 1975, hometown: Monroe, LA.
I'm a high school graduate with some college and vo-tech graduate (CDL training).
To be honest, I love positive and fulfilling conversations. I can respect the
thoughts, values, and culture of others. We can all learn something.
I have come to learn through this situation that we must make every day count.
We have to appreciate every moment and take advantage of everything life has
to offer. Because we may not be able to experience it again. We have to talk
to people we never would have and actually listen to them. Because it's what
the mind and heart has that counts.
In these modern times we often fail to realize individual characteristics, talents,
and traits of the people we meet. I feel as though the beauty of self and respect
for others is a necessity for a prosperous life.
To me friendship begins with several key components that make a solid foundation.
A mutual attitude of loyalty, respect, trust, sacrifice, dedication, motivation,
and much more. It accepts you simply for who you are.
Being faced with the issue of incarceration, I want to be viewed as equal.
Equal in the sense that I am a man, knowing that man does make mistakes and
we are not perfect.
My hope is to meet an acquaintance who will allow me a chance to fulfill
a journey that both of us can enjoy. The boundaries of our friendship will
explore the depths of the mind and see the realms of the heart.
The inner appearance of our attitudes and emotions will be the ideal location
for a beautiful start to our friendship.
I hope that you will become a part of my growing experience. I promise you
will not regret your decision.

In the Meantime
In the meantime, you learn the
profound difference
Between gripping a hand and
shackling a soul.
And you learn that love
doesn't mean learning
And association doesn't mean
security
And you begin to learn that
kisses aren't contracts
And hugs aren't promises,
And you begin to accept
your disappointments
With your head high and
your mind set
With the mentality of a
man, not the innocence of a
child
And you learn to fashion
all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground
is too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way of
ruining in your midst
In the meantime, you learn
That even sunshine burns if
you get too much of it.
So you sow your own seeds
and the decorations of your soul
is a beautiful garden.
Instead of waiting for some-
one to bring you a bouquet.
And you learn that you
really can bear hardship...
That you really are strong.
And you really do have worth.
And you learn and learn...
With every good-bye you
learn.
GOOD-BYE !

Emotions Called Love
Have you ever really loved some-
one, so much it made you cry
Just the thought of living without
them, made you think you would die
They make the world seem so
incredible
The future... bright and clear
They make you feel you could,
conquer anything, without questions
or fear
When life is tough they stand
beside you, on your darkest day they
are your light
They save you from yourself
sometimes
And chase away your night
They show you who you really
are... They become all you know...
The don't wonder or care who else
comes or go
This emotion called love is
something most of us know, when
you have it your face shows a
spectacular glow
This emotion called love is a
feeling you and I can get to know

My Life
Living in the streetlife is
expensive, but it does include a
free trip around a jail for a couple
of years.
How long a minute is depends
on what side of the gun your on.
Making love is good for you;
the more you have
the longer you live.
Fulfillment comes through doors
you took for granted, now you don't
own a key.
Ever notice that people who
are late usually lose their job more
than the people who show up on
time?
Most of us go to the grave with
our dreams still inside of us.
If Bush is lowering taxes
everyday how come the national
debt is still a few trillion?
You may be an object of
sex to one person in the world,
but you also may be the best sex
someone has ever known too.
Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once
Don't cry because it is coming
to an end, smile because you were
a part of it
We all could learn a lot from
Sesame Street, some characters
have unusual names, some are cute,
some are smart, and all are different
colors... but they all exist in the
same setting
A truly happy person is one
who can enjoy the scenery from
the other side of a prison fence.
