Hello..., friend!
My name is Charles L. Randolph, and on this cold and lonely night I unfortunately find
myself trapped in a maze of obscurity on Nevada's death row. Alone and devoid of emotional support,
I'm sending out this SOS in search of that "special" friend I've not had to light a candle
in my life. Each new day is one of emptiness in my life. And it is my hope that I can
change the fact that I'm alone in this world.
I seek to discover the beauty and compassion of the human spirit that champions the lives
of all people. I look for that caring someone who's willing to discover the qualities
which make me a person of value..., and not just a caged prison number unworthy of
compassion. It is my hope that a few of you who read this will be kind and caring enough
to give me the chance and opportunity to be a friend to and for you, while at the same
time easing my loneliness and giving me something to look forward to besides emptiness.
Each night is a new night that I lie to sleep without someone to care about me, nor
anyone to care about.
Although it's true that we've all made our share of mistakes in life..., I ask you am I
a person who should be punished with the silence of society? I am only a man of flesh and
bone who has been ensnared by loneliness and a profound lack of care. And, it is my sincerest
hopes that between sunrise and sunset someone will take out their pen and paper to
respond to my entreaty for a friend. I will respond to all who write as well as
appreciate all those willing to share with me a "taste of what it feels like to be
truly cared about". I look forward to hearing from you!
